Sociology Instructor Kim Waltz has been working in her dream job... teaching Sociology at Northcentral Technical College, in Wausau, Wisconsin, as a full time instructor, since 2002. She grew in Iowa on the farm where her parents still live and work. Since Kim started at NTC she has taught Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Diversity Studies, Introduction to Ethics, and Social Problems, and was the International Club Adviser for five years. She would really like to offer a class on Rural Sociology for the Agriculture students! Kim received her BS from McPherson College in 1994, her MA from Wichita State University in 1996, and is ABD from Kansas State University. In the past she worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Des Moines Area Community College and as a Community Leadership Specialist at Iowa State University Extension. When she isn't grading papers Kim loves to eat ethnic food, play golf, read, make pottery and spend time with her family. Most of all Kim loves teaching and learning about the complexity of the science of society and is very passionate to share the discipline of Sociology with students. She looks forward to welcoming students into and learning with every student during the course of her classes.
